FAQs

Q?

Can we have extra embellishments on our stationery?

A.

Yes, you can have whatever you'd like. The use of ribbon and embellishments can really add character to an invitation. We always provide a separate costing for adding embellishments as it is something you can do yourself, saving a bit of money. A nice task to carry out with the bridesmaids! We can advise you on the best materials and techniques.

Q?

Do I need to order all my stationery items in one go?

A.

No. It is often the case that the quantities for your other stationery items depend on the response from your wedding invitations. You can place your wedding stationery order separately and, as we have your design and colour preferences, ordering your day stationery items is extra easy.

Q?

What should I check for on my proofs?

A.

Your PDF proof will show you how your wedding stationery is going to appear to your guests. You should therefore check that all spelling is correct, you are happy with the layout, all stationery items are included, all dates and information are correct and the colours you have chosen are correct (if applicable).

Q?

Can I include additional information with my invitations?

A.

Yes, we can print this information for you on separate cards, in a style to complement your wedding invitations, or incorporate it within your invitation. If you have this information printed at the same time as the invitation it will bring the cost down, as there are no additional setup and finishing costs. Examples of the extra information cards you could provide are RSVP cards, directions and maps, local accommodation and taxi details, wedding gift, menu choices and various others.

Q?

Can I have my invitations in another language or bilingually?

A.

Yes, full translations must be provided and proofed by you.

Q?

Can we use our own wording?

A.

Yes, you can use the wording of your choice. If you need guidance we can suggest the wording appropriate to the style of your wedding.

Q?

Are we stuck to certain colours/fonts/formats?

A.

Not at all, at CTB we provide a bespoke service which means you can have exactly what you want rather than being restricted to specific styles/colours We have thousands of fonts to suit all occasions. If you do not have a specific style in mind we will often initially send you your chosen style of invitation in various colours and fonts for you to choose from, we usually email PDF proofs as this is the quickest and most economic option for proofing but if you need proofs in the post this can be arranged.

Q?

Can I provide my own design & artwork?

A.

Yes, we can print straight from your files as long as they are provided in a useable format. If you have an idea but don't have the facilities to design them yourself our in-house designer can bring your ideas to life.

Q?

Do you have a minimum order quantity or amount?

A.

No, we can produce as few or as many invitations as you need.

Q?

How many invitations should we order?

A.

Once you have written your guest list you can work out your invitation quantities, remember that you will only need one invitation per couple or family. We recommend that you order a few spare invitations to allow for mistakes, to invite replacement guests if anyone cannot attend and to keep as a memento of the day. It is much cheaper to do this rather than order more invitations later as they would be charged as a new order.

Q?

What Wedding Stationery can you produce?

A.

Save the date cards, invitations, rsvp cards, map/directions cards, accommodation/local information cards, order of service, place cards, camera cards, menus, table number cards, table plans, thank you cards, or anything else that you can think of!

Q?

Do we need to be local for you to produce our stationery?

A.

Not at all, we have produced many sets of stationery using telephone/email/post as means of communication, you will be surprised at how simple the process is!

Q?

When should we order our wedding stationery?

A.

Timings vary but it is common to send out invitations around four to six months before te wedding date.
Most venues now want confirmed numbers and menu choices six weeks before the date so you need to allow for replies to be back before then. Some couples like to send out save the date cards or magnets, especially if they are getting married on a date when people may be on holiday, with a view to sending out the formal invitation four to six months before the big day. If your wedding is more imminent don't panic! We do offer an express service.

How long does it take?

A.

You will receive proofs to check wording and layout within seven days of placing your order. Once you're happy and they are checked and approved by yourself, you will receive your printed stationery within three weeks. Q?

When do I pay?
